CIAO ADRIANO
Around Conques
October 2007
THE ROUTE TO DATE WITH MAPS OF FRANCE AND OF ITS MEDIEVAL PILGRIMAGE ROADS (Conques lies between Rodez and Aurillac)
Back to Ciao Adriano France Overview
|
|
Team Paradox originally planned to use Rodez as a base for exploration of an important area of the medieval pilgrimage roads - bad idea - no Poitiers here - literally no restaurants outside of "bar brasseries" which in reality are smoke filled down market bars - badly lit streets - groups of young ferrals with the obligatory Alsatians and open wine bottles - hardly anybody else around .....
.... anyway, it was definitely a bad idea, but it led us to discover a really good base further north in the famous Lot Liver Valley, which is just a short valley drive from the magic pilgrimage centre of Conques. Some of the places below involve a bit of a drive, but all were worth it.
