Sunday 18 November - We returned to San Giovanni d'Asso on a glorious winter day - this time James, Adriano's other son, was around to join the gustatory fun and good weather. First, a little church - San Pietro in Villore - dating back to the early second millennium, with some intriguing reliefs in the jumble of the restored facade.

Then it's in to the festival meal centre for elevenses ..... past the deep frying ladies ...... to the truffled ravioli .......

The local products on show / sale outside "La Canonica" are the new (like last week's) peppery olive oil, older "Orcia" wine (a new and pleasant discovery for Team Paradox) and honey. Inside, the sausages look (and are) irresistible. When the toast on the fire is served, you rub it with a garlic clove and dunk it in new olive oil, then experience the taste. Then you have some honey covered slices of Pecorino (sheep's) cheese - another local specialty. Then you go straight to heaven.
